Chinese Lapsang Souchong Shaowu black tea develops a strong taste reminiscent of Scotch whisky, with smoky and pine resin notes, and a subtle bitterness without being astringent. When brewed, it has a clear and bright deep red caramel color.

Its name comes from the Fuzhou dialect words "La" (pine), "Sang" (wood), and "souchong" (small variety). The smoking gives it its full-bodied and woody taste, as well as a unique smoky aroma.     • Preparation

      For a hot infusion,

      • Take 3g (about one teaspoon) for 30cl, infuse in water (ideally filtered) preheated to 95°C for about 8 minutes.
      • Water that is too hot or infusion that is too long can significantly alter the original taste of your drink.

      For a cold infusion,

      • Also infuse 3g for 30cl of water at room temperature for 60 to 90 minutes, or
      • Let it infuse overnight in your refrigerator to enjoy the next day.
