Pu-erh tea is a "dark" tea, known for its rich aromatic complexity that develops over time, offering a unique tasting experience. With a mild taste and a woody note coupled with flavors of moss and undergrowth, this tea has the advantage of improving with age.

    Tasting notes and information

    • Preparation

      For a hot infusion,

      • Take 3g (the equivalent of one teaspoon) for 30cl, infuse in water (ideally filtered) preheated to 95°C for approximately 5 minutes.
      • Water that is too hot or an infusion that is too long can significantly alter the original taste of your drink.

      For a cold infusion,

      • Also infuse 3g for 30cl of room temperature water for 60 to 90 minutes, or
      • Let it infuse overnight in your refrigerator to enjoy the next day.

      Pu-erh tea is grown in China's Yunnan province. It is made from minimally processed leaves, allowing the tea to ferment over the years. Like fine wine, it has the particularity of improving with age.

      Pu-erh is a product that can be consumed like a classic tea. But it is also the subject of a ceremony: Gong-Fu-Cha. This ceremony allows the leaves to be infused in a specific way to extract all their flavors. The tea is washed in simmering water for about ten seconds, before being infused in boiling water in a small pot called a Yixing teapot.

      Pu-erh tea is often found in the form of a compressed cake. This is how Chinese producers conceived the full quality of this unique and fermented tea.

      The low theine content of this tea makes it an ideal product for tasting throughout the day. Pu-erh tea, loose or in cake form, is mainly intended for hot infusion, but can also be consumed as a cold infusion.
